Statutory Holiday Pay

Holiday Pay

Express recognizes nine paid holidays per year. You qualify for holiday pay immediately when you become an Express Associate. You must work the last scheduled workday before the holiday and the first scheduled shift after the holiday to qualify. Your holiday pay is calculated as your average daily pay, for the four week period preceding the week of the holiday. This is determined by adding up all your regular pay for the four week period and dividing by 20.

  • Family Day
  • Good Friday
  • Victoria Day
  • Canada Day
  • Labour Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day
  • Boxing Day 

Vacation Pay

This benefit begins with your first assignment with Express. Vacation Pay is calculated as 4% of your hourly earnings and is added to your base pay, for example, if you earn $260.00 in a one week period, vacation pay would be $10.40 and would be added to the $260.00 for a total gross income of $270.40.
